It sits on the eastern side of Orr's Island and enjoys panoramic open-ocean views, cooling sea breezes and the sounds of an enthusiastic surf hitting the rocks--all delights to the senses! Built in the image of an old coastal-Maine cottage, it is a large house with all the modern amenities, privacy and a spacious interior. Complete down to the inglenook and wood-burning stove in the living room, it will take you back to the glories of the turn of the century while happily bypassing the inconveniences of that time. It has four bedrooms, plus a sleeping loft, two bathrooms, a laundry room with washer and dryer, a kitchen that overlooks the dining room, a living room, an entertainment room/office, a large front deck, and an enclosed porch. The entertainment room has a flat screen cable TV, DVD player, leather armchair, and there is wireless internet. Outside is a spacious deck, lawn and gardens, an outdoor shower, and a small stream down to the ocean. A beautiful wide swath of grass leads you to the rock-bound shoreline complete with ledges, a beach and tide pools. You can launch your own kayaks from the beach, and kids can find sea glass and shells. The land is a total of 13 acres and is available for rental nine months of the year. For views, space, comfort, elegance and convenience, you can't beat Aberdeen. It is located 20 minutes from Brunswick, home of Bowdoin College, grocery stores, gas stations, shops, and 30 minutes from Freeport where you can shop at outlet stores and L.L. Bean.
