SEASONAL ACTIVITIES....
Summer: Take a dip or kayak in Lake Hebron or other ponds and streams nearby. For waterfall lovers, there are over 30+ nearby for easy day trips. Several locations for whitewater rafting, take a moose safari (Northeast Whitewater tour company), or be shuttled to the multitude of hiking options by Shaw's across the street on the Appalachian Trail in the 100-Mile wilderness. Days here are temperate and evenings comfortable.
**Two of the best states freshwater beaches only 25 minutes away. Lily Bay State Park [Moosehead Lake] to the north and Peaks-Kenney [Sebec Lake] to the east.
Fall: Nothing better than the serene beauty of leaves changing color while still enjoying many of the same activities of spring/summer.
Winter: Snowmobilers can easily access local trails to IT's right from the house, downhill ski Squaw Mountain (25min), cross country ski Fierce Chase (3min), snowshoe the Appalachian trail (2min), Borestone Mt. (10min), or many other trail areas, try dogsledding, and maybe do some ice fishing at Moosehead Lake(15min) or many other ponds.
Spring: Come April, probably some of the best fishing in the state with the many secluded ponds, rivers, and streams in the area, Quiet time to hike and see the area when nature comes back to life.
