As you enter the property through a stacked stone wall, you find yourself surrounded by evergreen and hardwood trees as the property gently slopes downward toward the river. During the growing season, the front gardens are breathtakingly beautiful. This three story, four bedroom, four bathroom, Federal style home, located on the Bagaduce River, was designed by McKie Roth as his primary residence. The first floor, basement level of this home, houses the laundry room, a twin bedroom and a bath, and a children's play room. The second and main level has a large family room perfect for entertaining, a dining room, eat-in kitchen, two bathrooms and a queen bedroom. The third level has a large, king sized bedroom, a twin bedroom, and a shared bathroom. All bedrooms have large, walk-in closets. The main floor has a deck that faces the river and provides an ideal location for morning coffee and afternoon cocktails. There is also a private deck off the master bedroom on the main floor. Castine is a classic and pristine waterfront New England village with beautifully maintained 18th and 19th century Georgian and Federal houses. Located at the end of Route 166, Castine is a destination rather than a pass-through location, which contributes to the unique and quaint feeling that the town projects. Just a short distance away, visitors will find a wealth of sites to explore in locations such as Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, Bangor, and Camden, Maine.
