This classic New England sea captain’s home was built in 1862 by Captain Alfred Linekin Race. Set in the seaside village of East Boothbay, this charmer is absolutely oozing with history, including original woodwork, without sacrificing any of the modern conveniences. Set upon a thoughtfully landscaped half-acre lot, the home’s character is in full view from the moment you set foot on the wraparound, heated porch. Like each of the home’s other rooms, it’s brimming with artful antiques. There’s a wood-burning fireplace in the cozy living room and a well-equipped kitchen with a wall-mounted flatscreen TV right down the hall. You’ll sleep soundly in any of the five bedrooms, each thoughtfully decorated with period pieces. All feature a queen bed, and one is perfectly arranged for a family of four, with a queen and two twin beds, cheerily dressed in plaid. There are hardwood floors throughout, and lots of spots to settle in with a book and imagine all the memories made here before you arrived-and the ones you'll add to the story.
